Judges - Southeast Fine Arts Festival
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL JUDGE
LELAND STAVAN, BFA
We are honored this year to have Leland Staven as our Legacy Fine Arts Festival judge. He brings to our event a lifetime of experience, insight and knowledge.
Mr. Staven attended the University of Wisconsin were he received his BFA, with graduate and post-graduate work at Layton School of Art in Wisconsin, and the Illinois Instutitue of Technology. His MFA was earned at California College of Arts & Crafts.
Later, Mr. Staven held the positions of Art Department Chairman at both Berry College in Rome, GA, and Mercer University in Atlanta. He was appointed by the Governor to serve on the Georgia Commission for the Arts, and held the position of Associate Professor of Art and Dalton Gallery Curator at Agnes Scott College.
Mr. Staven, a professional artist himself, has been in Who's Who in Art since 1979, has won numerous awards, exhibited paintings in over 65 regional and national juried art exhibitions, and acted as judge for multiple fine arts events.
He currently resides in Rome, GA, where he pursues his work in art, poetry, and music.
ABOUT THE PATRONS SHOW JUDGE MARGARET DYER, PSA oils and pastels
Margaret is a Master Pastelist with the Pastel Society of America. She has been featured in The Artists Magazine, American Artist, International Artist, Pastel Artist International, The Pastel Journal, "How Did You Paint That?-100 Ways to Paint People & Figures, Vols. 1 and 2", and "Pure Color: The Best of Pastels".
